Reliable Internet for Education with Infinite Wireless
A US school district with multiple K-12 campuses backed its outage-prone wired broadband with Infinite Wireless multi-carrier vSIM internet and LTE hotspots for students, reaching 99.999% uptime for classes and testing.

About A US K-12 school district
The client is a school district in the United States with multiple K-12 campuses and remote learning programmes serving thousands of students and faculty. Its classrooms, labs and administrative offices depend on internet connectivity for classroom technology, online testing, live virtual classes and cloud-based administrative and educational applications, and a share of its students live in rural and underserved areas without reliable home internet.
The challenge
The district relied on wired broadband connections for classroom technology, online testing and its remote learning programmes. Frequent outages caused by fiber cuts, ISP failures and network congestion disrupted learning across the district.
The impact reached three areas in particular: live virtual classes and remote learning sessions, internet access for students in rural and underserved areas, and the cloud-based administrative and educational applications that staff and students use every day. Traditional SIM-based failover tied to a single carrier would not solve the problem if that carrier's coverage failed at a given campus.
The district needed a reliable, cost-effective backup connectivity solution that would keep students and teachers online both on campus and at home, and that could grow with the district without long infrastructure lead times.
The solution
Infinite Wireless provided a vSIM-enabled connectivity solution that delivers seamless 4G/5G backup internet across multiple school locations. Unlike traditional SIM-based failover tied to a single carrier, Infinite Wireless' multi-carrier vSIM technology lets each school switch automatically between more than 40 LTE carriers in the U.S., so service continues even when one network is down or congested.
Four capabilities were implemented. Multi-carrier failover switches automatically to the best available network to prevent downtime. Campus-wide connectivity gives classrooms, labs and administrative offices a reliable backup internet path. For remote learning, LTE hotspots were provided to students without reliable home internet. Cloud-based management gives the district's IT team full visibility and control over connectivity at every location.
The approach removed the district's dependence on expensive, unreliable broadband circuits as the sole path to the internet, and because the solution is wireless, additional campuses or programmes can be connected as needed without waiting on new infrastructure.
The results
- 99.999% uptime with no disruptions to classroom learning, testing or virtual classes
- Students in rural and underserved areas stayed connected through LTE hotspots
- Eliminated dependency on expensive, unreliable broadband connections
- Schools can expand connectivity as needed without infrastructure delays
- IT gained full visibility and control over connectivity at every location
