About A county behavioral health nonprofit

The client is a healthcare nonprofit and the largest local provider of behavioral health and crisis intervention services in its county, serving approximately 7,500 people each year. It operates multiple locations and, at the time it engaged CloudFirst, was considering the purchase of a local hospital. Its leadership had set aside capital for growth initiatives and wanted patient data secured more effectively before the end of the fiscal year.

The challenge

The nonprofit's IT department was short-staffed, and the shortage was affecting patient care and daily operations while holding back the organization's expansion plans. It had worked with several managed service providers, but slow response times were making downtime worse, and leadership wanted to streamline operations under a single provider for greater efficiency.

Executives were also pushing for a transition from reactive to proactive IT.
