Always-On Internet for Quick Service Restaurants & Food Trucks with Infinite Wireless
A growing US quick service restaurant chain and food truck fleet deployed Infinite Wireless vSIM connectivity that switches across 40+ LTE carriers, reaching 99.999% uptime for POS, online ordering and guest Wi-Fi.

About A growing quick service restaurant chain and food truck fleet
The client is a growing chain of quick service restaurants (QSRs) with an expanding fleet of mobile food trucks operating across multiple cities in the United States. Both the fixed locations and the trucks run on internet-dependent systems: point-of-sale terminals, online ordering and delivery app integrations, guest Wi-Fi and loyalty programme access. The case study does not name the business.
The challenge
Both the brick-and-mortar QSR locations and the mobile food trucks depended on reliable internet for critical operations. Point-of-sale (POS) systems needed it for fast transactions, online ordering and delivery apps needed it to receive orders, and guest Wi-Fi and the loyalty programme needed it to serve customers.
Outages were frequent and came from several directions. ISP downtime at fixed locations led to lost sales. Food trucks moving between urban and remote areas experienced inconsistent connectivity. At high-traffic events, single-carrier mobile networks became overloaded, leaving trucks unable to process payments at the busiest moments.
The business needed a fast, reliable and flexible connectivity solution that worked everywhere it operated, with zero downtime for transactions and digital operations, and that could be rolled out to new restaurants and trucks without waiting on an ISP.
The solution
Infinite Wireless deployed a vSIM-enabled connectivity solution that provides 4G/5G internet with the ability to switch dynamically between more than 40 LTE carriers across North America.
The key design difference from traditional SIM-based failover is Infinite Wireless' dual-radio module technology. Instead of being tied to one carrier's SIM, each device can move automatically to the strongest available network, so a congested or failed carrier does not take the location offline. This gave the chain automatic carrier switching for uninterrupted internet at every restaurant and truck.
On top of that connectivity, the deployment protected the systems that matter most to a restaurant: reliable POS and payment processing to prevent lost sales during downtime, and uptime for guest Wi-Fi and the cloud-based ordering system so the customer experience stays consistent.
Deployment was plug-and-play for both the fixed QSR locations and the mobile food trucks, which allowed the business to bring new sites and vehicles online quickly without ISP installation delays.
The results
- 99.999% uptime supported 24/7 operations and eliminated internet-related revenue loss
- POS transactions stayed secure and reliable, even during ISP outages or in mobile setups
- Cloud-based ordering and delivery app connections ran without disruption
- New QSR locations and additional food trucks were deployed easily, without ISP delays
