About A global semiconductor industry SaaS platform provider
The client is a global semiconductor industry innovator that offers SaaS platforms and lab solutions for chipmakers. It serves a globally diverse customer base and, as a large enterprise, runs high-density, high-performance compute and storage systems alongside primary low-density legacy systems. Worldwide demand for its services was growing, and it needed to modernize its infrastructure to adopt new technologies while continuing to support legacy systems without disrupting service for its customers.
The challenge
As worldwide demand for the company's services grew, so did its need for a data center expansion. It required more power and space for high-density workloads while consolidating primary low-density legacy systems into the same environment. At the same time, the semiconductor industry powerhouse sought to reduce costs, improve reliability and launch new services.
The objective was clear: precisely execute a distributed platform in a consolidated data center environment that could support both legacy systems and high-performance services without compromising the user experience. For a provider whose SaaS platforms and lab solutions serve chipmakers around the world, any disruption during the transition would be felt directly by customers, so the migration and consolidation had to happen without interrupting customer-facing solutions.
The company also needed a colocation strategy that fit its current and future infrastructure requirements, with power and space that could flex as workloads changed, and commercial terms that would support its expansion goals rather than constrain them.
The solution
Csquare (Centersquare) delivered a bespoke colocation solution built on a flexible deployment model and scalable infrastructure. The design addressed the customer's three stated needs, consolidation, scalability and reliability, within a single consolidated data center environment.
Power was tailored to the workload mix. Csquare provided multiple power configurations, with primary, redundant and tertiary feeds, to ensure continuous uptime for the high-performance compute and storage systems. The rollout was phased and integrated with the customer's existing operations so that legacy systems and new platforms could be consolidated smoothly while service quality remained uninterrupted.
Commercial terms were made flexible to support the customer's expansion goals, giving it a cost-effective and adaptable model as its footprint grew. Csquare's engineering and operations teams partnered with the customer to build and execute the strategy end to end, from the power and space design through the transition plan. Csquare backs its data center services with a 100% uptime guarantee and prioritizes security, reliability and customer service for the organizations it hosts.
The results
- Data center expansion completed ahead of schedule, enabling faster response to new business opportunities
- Expansion delivered within budget, allowing the customer to reinvest savings into other strategic initiatives
- Transition executed without disruption to customer-facing solutions, preserving satisfaction and reliability
- Modern infrastructure enabled new services, attracted new customers and recorded new revenue while reducing legacy system risks
- Unified platform now supports both legacy and high-performance workloads without impacting user experience
